THL Bjorn Bassason, being the VIth Clerk of the Guild, did attempt to send this missive on the 25th day of February in the LIXth year of the society, only for the gods of the list to thwart him for the inclusion of the images below displayed.
To the Brewers, Vintners, and Imbibers of this great Guild of Lochac does THL Bjorn Bassason send warm greetings,
On the 8th day of February AS LIX there was held a Competition at the Feast of Rhythm and Brews in the Barony of Mordenvale.
The competition was held in accordance with the traditions of Mordenvale’s heritage event. Any brew was welcome to be entered and the vote was put to all the populace for their favourite brew.
Apprentice Rosalind Beaufort, having won the competition last year (and several times before) returned the mash rake which serves as the perpetual trophy of the competition.
5 brews were entered. A Cider and a Mulberry Morat made by mine own hand, a Currant Wine and a Mead from Apprentice Rosalind Beaufort, and a Pale Ale from Thomas Bacchus.
As I did declare previously, myself and Rosalind, both being of sufficient Rank, did find Thomas’s brew Drinkable, so thus Thomas Bacchus did achieve the Rank of Apprentice.
The populace did vote in the majority for Rosalind’s Mead, which was made with Lemon Myrtle and Cardamom. It was my pleasure to receive the trophy from Rosalind in Their Excellencies’ Court and then promptly return it to her possession.
